OLDE GOLD BEER
The Olde Gold beer logo was designed to feel like it quietly endured time—like a brand that existed under the radar for the last half-century, served in small-town bars and corner taverns across America.
I approached the design under two constraints, legibility and timelessness. I wanted the logo to stand out in a noisy craft beer aisle with simplicity and boldness. The color contrast had to do just as much heavy lifting as the lettering itself.

PROCESS
After many lettering iterations (some of which you can see below), I drew the final wordmark inspired by an Alf Becker alphabet from the 1940s. The classic “ketchup and mustard” color scheme was a deliberate nod to beer brands of the past and it offered strong contrast, while carrying nostalgic warmth.
The can design was built around a modular label system that could extend to future beer styles. I developed the digital artwork and prepress assets, preparing the files for digital printing and working closely with the canning manufacturer to ensure proper color handling and print tolerances.
